This weekend I went to visit my parents in the Barrie area. While there we stumbled across an advertisement for Georgian Bay Miniatures and I just had to go. Mom and I made the trek to Meaford, Ontario and spent a delightful time browsing the new miniature store. The proprietors are Sue Dick and her husband George. While we were there, she truly made us feel welcome. The shop is set behind a beautiful Victorian house and is well laid out with a little something for everyone. Sue also makes some of the items in her shop and has lots of doll houses and room boxes on display. A truly kindred spirit. If you are planning a vacation in Wasaga Beach or the surrounding area this summer, I highly recommend making the trip to Meaford to see Sue and her new shop. Brick and Mortar shops are becoming fewer and fewer now and it is so nice to see a new one opening up. I wish her all the best and will definitely go back the next time I am in the area. Here is a link to her website is anyone is interested: Georgian Bay Miniatures Their address is 32 Nelson St. East, Meaford, Ontario |
