Greetings all! I hope you are all doing well and that you are feeling prepared for Christmas. I wanted to take some time to show everyone what I have been working on for part of my Christmas decorations this year. This is a project that I will be adding to each Fall until it is completed and this is my progress to date. I call this "Santa's Cottage" and was the inspiration for my Bargello chair. I chose colors that would match the wallpaper when designing the stitching for it. The cottage is made using a kit called "The Buttercup House" by Corona Concepts. Since it is so little, I felt it would be perfect for this project. This little cottage is now sitting as part of my Christmas decorations in my home. In order to display it better, I wrapped an empty box and set it onto some Foam core on top of a turntable. My guests will be able to turn it around to view the front of the cottage if they wish. My plan is to add much more to the living area of this cottage and complete a Santa's Workshop in the upstairs area. I am very much looking forward to adding the toys, etc., to the workshop! |
I will post another update photo of Santa's Cottage near next Christmas to show the next stage of my progress but for now, I have completed all that I will be this year. Do any of you have photos of Christmas miniatures that you are working on or have done in the past? Contact me at [email protected] and send me some photos and a description. I would love to add your photos to the blog.
Have a Very Merry Christmas!
