Until that time, since I don't have anything to post about the meeting, I thought I would post about the petitpoint rug I stitched for a competition that took place this past January. I found out a little while ago that the competition and all of the rugs were featured in the Miniature Needlework Society's magazine and also a Spanish magazine called Spanish Minituras. It was such a thrill to see my rug on the front cover and inside the magazines! The rug is stitched on 40 count silk gauze, measures 6" x 8" and has 76,800 stitches. It took a year to stitch as the competition organizer released a section of the rug to stitch once a month. The center medallion of the rug was left open for us to design and give it our own touch. I designed a sun and moon square for mine. The photo below shows the MNS magazine cover, the description of my rug inside and the pages pertaining to my rug in the Spanish Minituras magazine.
Our next official meeting will be December 16th so I hope to see you all there.
