My projects over the summer

This summer I worked on a few 1/12th scale projects.  The first is a wingback chair that I re-covered in order to use it in a Santa's Cottage that I am building.  I designed the fabric and inset image myself and stitched it in the Bargello style on 48 count silk gauze.  I began stitching the chair at the beginning of July this year and just finished it on November 5th of this year.  The chair was one I had in my stash and wanted to re-cover.  I began the chair as part of a group challenge started by an online petit point group I belong to.  We were to design a fabric and re-cover any chair we wished then post the photos once finished.  It was great fun and I may someday, stitch another for Santa's Cottage using the same colors but a different Bargello pattern so that I don't get bored stitching the same thing over again.

​The second thing I worked on were some hand-made room screens in 1/12th scale.  I created 8 different designs and am selling them in their un-finished state here.  The example above is one that I made for my daughter Heather.  Eventually, it will go into an Oriental room box that I wish to make for her.  She chose the picture she wanted in the screen and I printed it onto cotton fabric before adding it to the screen.

Our club is looking to try and have in-person meetings starting in January if all goes well.  I look forward to seeing everyone then if we are able to resume the meetings.  In the meantime, what have you all been working on?  I would love to post a blog entry about your projects.  Please email me at the club's email address ([email protected] ) and let me know.
