Well it's been a minute since I've had a chance to share all the exciting news that's been going on with the Omega group. I spent most of October in Florida helping family recover from the two hurricanes. As a result I missed the MET show which I was heartbroken over but it was a roaring success and all our lovely pieces from Victor Gossman are now in their forever homes. We are so happy for our lucky buyers
Our monthly meeting on October 9 had J giving us all a wonderful tutorial on miniature knitting. Her talent is incredible and we are so lucky to be able to learn from her. We also discussed our resource Library which includes several hundred miniature magazines. The collection is so large now that it's becoming difficult to store and so we had discussion on whether we should continue to try and find a place to store it or if we should dispose of it? Ultimately the group decided to digitize it. It's going to be a monumental task that I'm sure will take many months to complete. I don't think anyone could bear to see all that wonderful information just disappear.

Before we knew it we were at our monthly meeting on November 13. We were so excited because we welcomed two new enthusiastic members, C and D. W provided a fabulous tutorial on making pottery both with kiln fired clay and air dried clay. I think it's safe to say that quite a few of us will be getting mini pottery wheels from Santa this year. It's incredible what you can make with a little bit of knowledge.
Life has been pretty busy for most of the members and now that Christmas is almost upon us most of us have tidied up our miniature making desks. We have one more meeting in 2024 and we're going to do a Christmas potluck.

We're also very excited to share that Liz Dielman at Grampas Dollhouse is hosting an open house on November 23 and 24th. Liz is also announcing that her daughter Jenny has joined her at Grampas Dollhouse. If you have Christmas shopping to do for any miniaturist on your list I can guarantee you'll find lots to choose from at the open house. If you can make it I know Liz and Jenny will be delighted to see you.
