Join us October 19, 2024 at the Japanese Cultural Centre in Toronto for the Miniature Enthusiast of Toronto (MET) Miniature Show. This is a very popular show and always has a lot of interesting items brought to you by numerous vendors. There's raffle draws and miniature displays. I attended last year and came home with quite a few treasures. If you've never been before it's definitely worth attending. As with most shows it is the most busy right at the beginning of the show so expect to possibly wait for a few minutes in line to get in. The trade-off is you get first crack at all the goodies. The vendors take cash debit and Visa.

We can hardly believe that the bazaar has come and gone after looking forward to it for so long. It was a wonderfully spectacular day and we hope that everyone who attended had as much fun as we did. We arrived early to open up and help the vendors set up their tables. That's one thing people might not realize, when they attend a bazaar or miniature show, just how many hours of pre-show preparation goes into it. All of our vendors are very experienced at it though and are extremely organized and efficient. We always find its a big rush at the opening of any event as everyone is eager to find that special piece or that super bargain. We had a great turnout and we were so happy to see everyone. There were a lot of good deals and there were even items for free! All kinds of things were available from full-sized doll houses, completed room boxes, furniture, accessories and dollhouse construction supplies, like mouldings, windows and wallpaper. It was 3 PM before we knew it and as the last stragglers were departing the big job of packing up whatever was left and cleaning up everything got going.
Even though it's always an exciting day and everybody loves being involved, it's so good to get home get your comfies on, then sit down with a cuppa of something, and reflect on what a great day it was. We thank all our vendors and everyone who attended and made it so successful. Our next big day will be October 19, 2024 at the MET show, at the Japanese Cultural Centre, in Toronto, where we will have a table with all the wonderful pieces donated to us by Victor Gossman. It will be fantastic to see you there. We're delighted to announce that we now have an Instagram account. There's lots to figure out as it's all new to us but we're looking forward to posting our news not only here on our blog but at our Instagram account as well. Check us out and give us a like and subscribe!
instagram.com/omega_mini_makers September 11, 2024 we gathered back to welcome in the new year of Ontario Miniature Enthusiasts of Guelph Area (OMEGA). It was wonderful to see everybody again and we spent some time just going around the table sharing our summer adventures.
Talk quickly turned to club business which included sign-up sheets for meeting hostess and tutorials. We decided that each member would do a little tutorial on some thing they felt proficient at in order to grow the club skill set & keep things interesting. In the coming year, we're looking forward to tutorials on making polymer clay vegetables & cakes, making our own pottery without a kiln, how to do mini knitting and micro crocheting and we may even get in some how to on woodworking. We had a quick discussion about our next show which will be May 4, 2025 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportplex. Even though it's still quite far away, everyone has already started their project for our exciting streetscape display. We organized jobs for our upcoming bazaar on September 22, 2024 at the Puslinch Community Centre starting noon. We're excited and looking forward to seeing our vendors and fellow miniaturist who are looking for a bargain! We're also very excited about the upcoming MET (Miniature Enthusiasts of Toronto) show at the Japanese Cultural Centre in Toronto on October 19, 2024. The club will have a table as we are going to be offering for sale several antique pieces created by, the well respected miniaturist & furniture maker, Victor Gossman. Victor retired earlier this year and generously donated several pieces for the betterment of the club. These are Victor's last one of a kind pieces and they feel very special because there won't ever be any more created by him. I'm sure they will be snapped up very quickly. Hopefully we'll see a lot of our friends there. The club wishes Victor all the happiness and health in the world during his retirement; he will be missed. Hopefully he will stop in to shows now and then to say hello. We closed out the meeting enjoying yummy chocolate cake and sweet grapes with tea and coffee and before we knew it it was time to start packing up. |
